Nsette Foundation Uganda is a legally registered non-profit organization in Uganda. Our registration number is 80020003867201. Nsette Foundation Uganda is non-denominational at the point of service provision and without political affiliations.

Nsette Foundation Uganda was founded in 2017 by Waiswa Cyprian and Balondemu Ivan, both social workers.

Ivan grew up as a vulnerable child himself. He would not have gotten where he is today without his late grandmother, Naigaga Janet. She cared for him, as well as many other orphanswhose parents died of HIV. She ensured they had food, clothing and other basic necessities. Very importantly, she also paid for their school fees, ensuring they had access to schooling, all while struggling to make ends meet for herself.

When Ivan excelled in his studies, he got an opportunity to move to Europe and build a life there. Instead, he chose to stay in Uganda, so that he could help orphans and vulnerable children the same way Janet helped him.

This inspired Ivan to create Nsette Foundation Uganda. Together with Cyprian, they aim to bring about Janet’s vision of a world where every child can fulllfill their potential.

This story, full of courage and self-determination, remains the driving force behind Nsette Foundation Uganda.

The focus of Nsette Foundation Uganda is on community development through the participation of its own people.

Nsette Foundation Uganda envisions a society that will work together towards eradication of vulnerability, HIV, illiteracy, and fight the violation of children’s rights.

This sense of moral justice has been engrained in Balondemu for as long as he can remember. Growing up, he accompanied his grandmother to the poorest parts of Butiki, Uganda, in order to serve others. At a young age, he realized the children he encountered were just like him, except they were born into different circumstances with fewer opportunities.
